The Texan swim team will hold tryouts from 4 to 5 p.m. Tuesday April 19 at UTA indoor pool (801 Greek Row).

“It’s a great sport to be in and you really get to bond with with your team and grow together like a family,” Luis Roa said. “Swimming has been tough sport that doesn’t get recognition in our school, and it teaches us a lot of important things such as hardwork and dedication.”

All students must bring their own swimsuits and a towels. They encourage anybody who is interested in joining the swim team to come out and give it a try.

“Tryouts will determine if the student has skill to participate in a sport,” junior Ivan Ponce said. “It means a great deal to me. I’ve always been a lover of swimming, but being on an actual team makes it much more special. I have grown to love my team and care for them. It’s nice to be apart of something as special of Texan swimming.”
