The head softball coach has high expectations for this season.

“We hope to do very well, we think our pre-seasons are doing pretty well,” head coach Ashley Woods said. “We have a young team so we’re looking to improve.”

Defense skills is what Woods is developing in her players right now.

“I motivate them to give 100 percent all the time, have teamwork, try to be as competitive,” she said.

The Texans play against Seagoville at 6 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 18 at the Workman Softball Complex.
