World history teacher Naunie Lobaugh’s celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, March 3 at the Community of Hope United Methodist Church.

Lobaugh passed away Thursday, Feb. 27 of Ovarian cancer.

Junior Rosa Vazquez was Lobaugh’s student last year. She said it was Lobaugh’s energy and optimism that encouraged her to continue taking AP classes. She said Lobaugh always made class fun, entertaining, and easy to learn history which isn’t her best subject.

“Whenever I think of Mrs. Lobaugh all I can think of her is her kindness, she was so kind,” Vazquez said. “She did everything that she could to make sure that others were ok. Like even when she was having a bad day she tried to make it a good day for other people.”

Funeral attendees are asked to bring books to donate to the Sam Houston High School.

The Lobaugh family has a GoFundMe page.
