Beginning today the award winning Tex-Annes Drill Team will compete in a two-day competition in Galveston, Tx.

“We should win this year,” six-year director Beatrice Hernandez said. “We got Grand Champions last year. I am hoping we keep the title this year.”

Junior Itzel Contreras is a first year Tex-Anne. She wants to pursue a dancing career and believes being a Tex-Anne will help her achieve that goal.

“I feel excited because we’re traveling to Galveston,” Contreras said. “I also feel nervous because it’s a big competition and they are also other good teams, and since we got Grand Champions last year it’s pressure on us to do good this year.
