BLACK HISTORY EVENT AIMS TO STOMP OUT RACISM

This year the Black History Month program will focus on the definition and any possible solutions to racism.

The program will be held second and fourth periods on Thursday, Feb. 22 in the Auditorium. The second show will be at 6 p.m. Friday, Feb. 23 in the Auditorium.

“I want them to know about their history and while they’re being brainwashed, to stay woke and know what’s going on in our generation today,” junior organizer Ann Sarara said. “I hope they actually take into consideration and be a part of this, I want like more people next year.”

Billy Wilson, math teacher and program sponsor, said the program will touch on different topics like sexism, ageism, how poor and rich .

In conjunction with the program, the BHM committee is also running student testimonials and Black History month facts on TexanTv.
