The Family Center will host it’s annual  Taste of Latin America program at 6 p.m. tonight in the Auditorium.

“I expect it to be a wonderful celebration of Hispanic culture through food, music dance and honorees,” Roslyn Burch, family center liaison, said. “We are diligently working on the event.”

League of United Latin American Citizens will present a video of students answering the question, “Why is it important to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month?,” at the program. Sponsor Jaime Villarreal said they will be preparing the video until the date of the program.

“I expect it to go very well,” Villarreal said. “I think this is the seventh year and every year it is great. Parents and students get involved and from past years it’s always been a way for the school and community to work together.”

The program will feature students from Thornton Elementary and Remynse Elementary, who will be debut their drumline.

Burch also said the Family Center will partner with the library to “initiate” ESL and computer classes as well as helping  parents enroll in college.
